Ministry of Health Decides to Close Down Deum Angkrang Hospital

KAMPONG SPEU: The Ministry of Health has decided to close down and revoke the permit of ‘Deum Angkrang’ private hospital, led by Dr. Sous Chanrasmey, located on National Road 3, Ang Por Peul Commune, Kong Pisey District, Kampong Speu Province.

The decision to close and revoke the hospital’s permit was made on Thursday, 8 December 2022, after the Ministry of Health found that Dr. Sous Chanrasmey had employed uneducated and unregistered individuals, and had moved locations without proper notification to the Ministry.

The Ministry of Health stressed that "the person in charge and owner of Deum Angkrang Hospital, as well as those who have violated professional medical ethics and improperly examined and treated patients, must be held accountable before the law."

It should be noted that a midwife at Deum Angkrang Hospital, who was not properly trained in miscarriages, was suspended for two years by the Ministry of Health for improperly treating a woman who had an 18-week-old miscarriage on 22 November 2022.
